Course Content Basic concepts and principles of Statics. Composition, resolution and equilibrium of forces and moments. The rigid body. Determination of the center of gravity and of the moment of inertia. Friction. Construction safety from overturning and sliding. Geometrical stability in the design of bearing structures, Types of applied loads on structures. The linear bearing structure. Definition of internal forces and moments. Analysis of simple and complicated statically determinate structures (rods, cables, trusses, beams, frames, three hinged systems, multispan isostatic beams, (Gerber) and comlicated isostatic linear structures.
