Course content The deformable body. Basic concepts. The normal stress and strain. Design methodology of bearing structures. Safety factors. Uniformly distributed stresses of tension, compression and shear. The stress field of a beam caused by torsion, axial forces and/or uniaxial or bi-axial bending moment, shearing forces, or the combination of the previous internal forces and moments. The buckling of columns.
