Course content

Design of a small scale building. Application to a single family house. Plots of specific dwelling spaces. Observation, registration and evaluation of objects for everyday use and spaces within the dwellings. Materials and construction as elements of integral expression of form. Organisation and elaboration of indoor and outdoor spaces. Integration of the building to its immediate environment. Space and the way of life. Similarities and contradictions between different modes of life and their imprint in space. Housing typologies and the realities of daily life. Dwelling and object. Private space and objects. Private and public space. In the context of prescriptions and module’s methodology, the gender’s view will be introduced, embodying gender’s differences into the phase of formulating the building’s programme in the phase of designing.
