"Bi-directional flows between two different sectors: Connections of Architecture-“Fashion”, work of artistic creation." Chanioti Marousso - Giannikopoulos Charalampos - Ziouna Angeliki

In our days, architects take great consideration in the creation of spaces that are not only meant to sell clothing, but also to exhibit clothing. The architecture of these spaces is shaped with elements from the world of art, society, technology and most important of all, from the work of the specific designer that is about to be presented in such a space.  The objective of architecture is to create permanent spaces in order to accommodate haute couture’s ephemeral creations and to project the particular meaning of planning of clothing for each particular designer. The synthetic principles, which are adopted for the achievement of this objective, are shaped with base the particularities of these spaces, the relation, which is developed between the architectural work and the designers, as well as the commercial dimension of these spaces. At the same time, we examine the phenomenon, at which, known  fashion designers choose for the creation of their shops architects with a certain style, for whom they consider that are capable to transmit complex meanings to their public and to shape a concrete picture for the value of their products, using the language of architecture.
