"DogVILLEtte, methods of involvment architecture design and urban reality" Marilena Skavara - Eleni Chliova - Mpitzani

An interrelationship between the film Dogville and the urban park La Villette in Paris. The project goes through the questions that Dogville sets -by both its scenographic choices as well as its script- in relation to the concepts of architecture and space, and the way these questions are answered in the case of La Vilette. The research centres around public urban space, while emphasizing Bernard Tschumi’ s theoretical framework of Villette’ s planning as well as the social reality of the park and its relationship with the urban environment. Of crucial importance to the analysis of the subject is the human factor inasmuch as it influences both the architectural planning and the way man can experience space either as an individual or as a social being.
