"Alternatives ways of transport, the bicycle in Nauplio" Mado Petratou

In this paper, there has been a try to look into the principles of the viable movability, and specifically with those that have to do with the use of friendly, to the environment, means of transport, giving a great emphasis to the use of bicycle. There has been also an effort to explore the point of view of the users of the road, and especially the aspect of the cyclists that cycle inside the urban space. The object was to draw conclusions about the viability of the use of bicycle to the everyday life. To achieve that goal, except of the bibliographical research, there has been a research at the field. For the research, there has been chosen the city of Nauplio.

Nayplio has been chosen among other cities, after the observation that a big part of the people who lives there, chooses for its every day transportation, the bicycle, although there is hardly any substructure. From the research there have been interesting conclusions about the reasons for witch an inhabitant of a city prefers to move with a mean, other than its car. On the other hand, there has been an effort to understand with what measures a cyclist chooses a road and witch are those quality measures that make a course special when compared to an other, in addition to have  some conclusions about the design of the urban space.
