"Jean-Luc Godard: Pierrot le fou and the space" Gika Chrisriana

Approach of the term of cinematic space through the work of the director Jean-Luc Godard and more precisely through the film Pierrot le fou (1965).

The cinematic space of the film is analyzed on the following axes:

1)  Real space that includes:

      a) the architectural space: the real space of the countryside or the city and the built space of the scenery

      b) the iconographic space, i.e. the space of the composition of the frame

      c) the space of the colors and their composition in the frame

2)  Imaginary space that includes:

      a) the narrative space, i.e. the imaginary space of the narration and the montage of the images

      b) the space of the citation, i.e. the imaginary space that results from the references to universal concepts and symbols.
