General Information

The Research Laboratory for Spatial Planning and Urban Development is one of the Laboratories of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, School of Archtecture, National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
The Laboratory was founded in 1981 (Pr. Decree 573/1981). and was put in operation in 1983 (Integration to the School of Architecture, Minist. Decis. Β1/29/83 - Β'80)
Louis Wassenhoven (now Honorable Professor of NTUA) was the first director until 2005.

From 2005 until now the director of R.P.U.D is Ms Sofia Avgerinou-Kolonia, Professor N.T.U.A.

Regianal Planning, Regional Design, Regional Development, Sustainable Spatial Development, Local Development, Tourism and Space, City Development, Historic Centres of Cities, Urban Programming, Planning Theories.

Courses related:
Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Special Issues of Planning, Planning Theory, Development of European Cities.

The product of the research outcome has often fed the tuition activity of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and the research activities of candidate PhD's and students of the NTUA, as well as of other Universities in Greece and abroad.
